Vin Diesel
Vin Diesel was born on July 18, 1967 in Alameda, California, United States.
He was the son of astrologer Delora Sherleen Vincent, of German, English and Scottish descent. He had three brothers, Tim, Samantha and twin Paul Vincent. He did not meet his biological father and was raised by his stepfather Irving H. Vicent, director and theater instructor.
He grew up in New York's Greenwich neighborhood.
At the age of seven, he appeared in the play Dinosaur Door, a role offered to him by the theatre director after attempting to commit vandalism alongside with his brother and some friends in the city theater. He continued with acting during his teenage years and and studied at Hunter College creative writing.
He worked as a doorman for famous nightclubs in Manhattan and a telephone salesman before as a actor.
He appeared in the breakdance instructional video Breakin' in the USA in 1984. His first performance for the big screen was a short appearance in Awakening(1990). She wrote, directed, produced and starred in her short film Multi-Facial (1994), which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 1995.
His first feature film was Strays (1997), an urban drama where he plays the leader of the band whose love for a woman inspires him to try to change his ways, being selected in 1997 at the Sundance Festival.
He was part of the cast of the Steven Spielberg film , Saving Private Ryan (1998), which won an Oscar for Best Cast. He voiced the character in the animated film The Iron Giant (1999) and in 2000 had a role in Pitch Black.as Riddick, an ex-convict murderer. He played the same character in The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Riddick (2013)
He had a leading role in the Fast & Furious saga , as Dominic Toretto, a professional street car tuning racer, in The Fast and the Furious (2001), as well as in subsequent installments. He starred alongside Paul Walker . His role in the first part launched him to stardom.
He received a star in theHollywood Walk of Fame in August 2013. In 1995, he founded the film production company One Race Films , known as One Race Productions. He created the video game company Tigon Studios in 2002 .
Personal life
He had a relationship with actress Michelle Rodríguez in 2001, with whom he shared a cast in The Fast and The Furious, and in 2007 with the Mexican model Paloma Jiménez. They were both parents to Hania Riley, Vincent, and Pauline, named after the late Paul Walker, Diesel's friend.
